How to fix unlevel floors?

Any ideas? I'm starting to think unlevel floors might actually make it impossible to have furniture that I want to get sit flush against the ground. I tried to think of some ideas, but I really don't know of anything that would be effective and on the cheaper side. :/

So, I decided to ask here because maybe someone knows of a simple, effective, and affordable solution. The floor isn't just unlevel like it is higher on one side than the other but also has a large bump.

Unless you own the place you can't do anything to the floors themselves so shims are probably your only bet.

Ignore or dismiss every comment in a thread about leveling floors.

To such an end, i'll help:

It depends on the kind of floor. Is it wood, tile, cement or carpet?

What are you in?
Single story/2 story house?
Apartment?
Other?

Is one room unlevel or the whole thing?

Type of floors?

If you are just irritated by the furniture level, they sell adhesive felt pads, that you can cut and stick on the high feet.

If you really want a level floor, as said above it depends on type of floor and whether you own the property.

Been through this. We pulled up the carpet in our living rooms and I went to put hard woods in and found the the floor wasn't level (Concrete). It had bumps and dips in it. Being 70 years old, I know it won't be perfect, especially since N. Texas is horrible for foundations. I bought a bag of leveling cement and a true and straight 2x4 from home depot and leveled it myself. The hardest part is just moving all of the furniture.

Also remember that level and flat are 2 different things.
You just need a flat floor. A perfectly level and flat floor is very rare.

Flood the room with an inch or two of epoxy and let gravity do the rest.

Customer to Home Depot associate: "I need to buy epoxy."

Associate: "Sure. How much do you need."

Customer: "I need to make an epoxy flood... AnandTech recommended it."

Associate, *confused look* "Who is AnandTech?"

Customer: "Quit asking so many damn questions. I need your biggest bag of epoxy, ASAP!!!"
