You don't HAVE to do the entire room, but while you're in the process why not just do it?Originally posted by: 50
Hey, thanks for the ideas guys. I assume if I do choose drywall then I probably will have to redo the entire room? I don't think it's worth all that effort to do drywall.

You're gonna want to re-do that wall. Eventually it'll come to it and you might aswell do it now while you've got the wallpaper off. How do the other walls look?
Any major mistake can be fixed by ripping off the drywall you messed up and putting a new one on.Originally posted by: 50

The other walls are in good condition. There are bumps only on that part of the wall.
My main concern is I will make a major mistake doing drywall (I've never done any job like this). Does anyone know a rough estimate on how much it would cost to just drywall that wall ?
So what do you plan on doing after you rip the plaster off?Originally posted by: 50
What about ripping the plaster off? How would I go about doing that(or should I just abandon all plans right here and look for a contractor)?
The materials to repair the wall minus the tools & paint are well less than $20.00. Tools are simple and cheap if you buy except for the drill/cordless drill. Tools can also be borrow or rent, and add some elbow grease. My main concern is I will make a major mistake doing drywall (I've never done any job like this).
