Parody the whole concept
Maybe the best thing to do would be to get Anakin to embrace the Dark Side as quickly as possible, perhaps by forcing him to confront some terrible disappointment that will haunt him for the rest of his days. We suggest this two-line scene set in a Coruscant restaurant:

WAITER: Here?s your green salad, sir.
ANAKIN: What? You fool, I told you NO CROUTONS! Aaaaaaargh!

Anakin puts on his black helmet and storms off to his local county clerk?s office and fills out the paperwork to have his name legally changed to ?Darth Annie Vader.? (He later quietly drops the middle name, realizing it doesn?t help his macho image.)

lol.

if necessary Lucas could probably be tricked by telling him that Joseph Campbell is waiting with a documentary crew to massage Lucas? ego by interviewing him about his wonderful mythic imagination. When Lucas shows up, knock him out, encase him in a block of frozen carbonite and put him out of the way somewhere until the movie is out in theaters
ROLF

Simply beautiful.

The author managed to encapsulate my thoughts.

I used to be a Star Wars fan boy, but after seeing The Phantom Menace that all changed.

Lucas can't write plot or dialogue, nor can he direct. He never could. The original trilogy, with all its charm, was a success due to the talents of many other individuals. Ralph McQurrie, Irvin Kershner, and Lawrence Kasdan are some examples.

Lucas likes things that flash and go boom. Perhaps we should have him produce video games and leave the filmmaking to professionals.

That guy actually makes sense.

I for one don't see Lucas removing his head from his brown orifice long enough to come up with anything other than some pathetic, lame excuse for a transition from "Annie" to Vader.

The first Star Wars trilogy are movies that have great special effects for their time, lame story lines, one dimensional characters, and at best amazingly silly dialog.

3PO and Luke Skywaker are the most irritating characters that I can recall seeing in a movie. Though, I have to say that Anakin Skywaker in SW II raised the bar for bad acting to a new height.

I will see SW III and SW 7, 8, and 9, if they are made, because all the Star Wars movies have been well made and visually wonderful to watch.

I like the Star Wars movies but I'm glad I'm not a SW fan. These latest movies must be like a chinese water torture to a real fan. I like big budget, sci-fi/action movies so that's all I want, as long as it isn't as bad as Battlefied Earth.

People shouldn't really judge Episode III before it comes out. I think Lucas is gonna one-up everyone and prove all the doubters wrong.
