I have a Denon 1913.

I have ARC setup from my TV to my AVR. The coaxial cable goes into my TV and the audio signal is sent through the HDMI ARC into the ARC of the AVR but it does not sound right. Everything connected into my HDMI sounds good and runs on Stereo TV mode but when I switch my TV over to coaxial, my AVR switches the sound to Dolby Digital and reduces the sound by -7db.

Dolby Digital at -7db does not sound right. How do i keep it in Stereo TV mode?

It depends on the source. Is the source Dolby 5.1 from the Coax (OTA I assume)? If so you will have to force stereo through your AVR. You should have a way to change the type of audio from auto or digital to 2 channel output. According to Page 67 of your manual, pressing Game, Music, Or Movie on the remote will change the listening mode. It will go through the available formats such as stereo, dolby digital, DTS neo 6 etc.

Yeah that doesn't work. All it does is change the source input and I end up having no sound. The bottom of my remote has an option to switch sounds around but I noticed that there is no TV Stereo sound. There is a multi stereo channel or mono stereo sound. This leads me to believe that the system for some reason believes I have surround sound. When i switch to the other settings, it still doesn't fix the problem. Thanks for your suggestion though.

Edit:
Okay, I've figured why my Denon 1913 keeps changing it's sound. Dolby Digital is being sent through OTA coaxial cable and it's telling my Denon to change the settings. Every channel on OTA Coaxial has a different Dolby Setting that is changed to that specific setting when i change to that channel. I need a way to stop it from doing this.

Hrm...that is odd behavior. On my Sony DN1040 and my Old Onkyo I can force stereo from any digital source. I wonder why it doesn't work with your Denon.
