how to fix some IE8 quirks

in the address bar on previous versions on IE i could click the icon and it would list sites i have been to before in a drop down menu and allow me to just click on it.

also how to get rid of the url and have it a single color instead of part of it partially hidden

On the first question, go to Tools > Internet Options > Content tab, and have a look at the AutoComplete settings. Try disabling everything but "Browsing history" and see if that's what you're after.

Regarding the second question, I think you mean the "Domain highlighting" feature, where the URL is grey except for the domain name, which is black. I don't know of a way to toggle that on & off. Its function is to help people recognize stuff like

it looks like in ie8 you have to click the arrow down in the far right of the browser window.

not sure which idiot decided to do that instead of the left side like ie7 or earlier allows you too.

seems like they hired the idiots working at mac to **** up windows 7.

be nice if they actually listened to users
