I know it's a little wierd, but I'm hoping somebody can help with this. I have 3 UW SCSI HD's and only a a mid tower case. The case has 4 5.25" bays and 3 3.5" bays. I guess I could put all three drives in the three 3.5" bays, but then they would be packed pretty tightly together; plus I would have nowhere to put my floppy drive. I have a ton of room in my 5.25" bays with 3 empty ones, so I'm trying to figure out how I can mount these 3.5" drives in there. Are there any products that would let me do this? I want to spend as little as possible, and I don't need anything fancy at all. Otherwise, is there another way I could do this. I just need something that would do the job.

You can get rails for a couple bucks at any computer store. They let you mount a 3.5" into a 5.25" bay.

huh, how is it that you have scsi drives and can only get a mid tower? ;)

let alone not know most drives comewith metal brackets to allow usage in 5inch bays. you might be able to buy those. ussually come with retail drives free.

I did that with two drives for 9 months in college. Then for the move I took the effort to screw each into the 5 1/2" bay with one screw each. That held for the move home and I never touched them again. The computer has since moved to my sister and she had no problems and she donated it to a local school and they have had no problems. I assume they still are hanging on by one screw each.

Of course there are adapters. They come with the drives when you buy them. You can also buy adapters at most computer retailers. There's also a drive bay compressor that lets you put 3 HDs in 2 5.25" drive bays.

Your best bet is to sell the mid-tower and fet a full tower. Everything then works better and cooler.

I've put them on the bottom and have used "L" brackets and placed the HD under the cage, you can also use and bend metal straps as well.
