I'm going to visit my mom in Buffalo, NY soon. I want to find some car shows there. Is there a good site for finding them?

And if anyone knows of weekly (weekend) shows in the Buffalo area, let me know. My mom lives in Lockport, NY if you know the area.

what style/ type of cars?

lowrider magazine have a website with dates of events listed
dub magazine does the same, i would check there

nyspeed.com (mostly central NY though...)

There are a couple Rochester cruises mentioned in the one above as well. The Charcoal Corral cruise night in Perry is a good one, it's located south of Rochester. They have a drive-in movie theater that you can go to after the show. The super-cruises (third Thursday of each month) are the bigger shows, but they usually get a decent amount either way. If you feel like coming all the way to Rochester, the Log Cabin cruise-ins on Wednesday nights are pretty popular now.

I'm sure once you find a local one, you can ask around about other ones.

I like hot-rods and muscle cars.

My son (6) likes anything that looks fast. he also has a fascination for old cars.

I think anything should work.

Try to stick to the more publicized/legit events, like those sponsored by businesses/magazines. There are more than a few local groups here in DFW that are just full of trouble-makers, ricers, street racers, and thugs/thug wannabes, which always brings the po-pos out to hassle everyone.
