if you get paid weekly and you work 40 hours/week, yes this would be your gross annual pay

rough estimate is usually hourly pay * 2 add a few zeros...

so 16/hr is roughly 32k a year.

Hourly rate * 2080 is the official way. Same as OP psoted which is the 52 * 40.

you really have to count your investment plan savings, benefit contributions, and taxes. Well, I do. the 36k I make doing this job becomes a lot less attractive after I figure out that I'm making around 25k after all my deductions come out of my paycheck.

I always do rate x 2000. Yeh you lose a bit in the equation, but it's always better to go conservative than over estimate.
