How to etch VIN # onto car windows?

JEDI

Lifer
i want to etch the VIN # to all the windows of my car. How can i do that myself and still have it look professional?

if i can't, ,where can i go to have it done? andhow much?

thx

I thought the vin # was already etch'ed into all the windows??

Why would you want to do that?.... A thief would just break out the windows....

Isn't it clearly displayed on the dash?

If you go to a crafts store they sell acid etch kits.
You could also use a elect. scriber (the kind they sell for inscribing tools and such)
Or you could sandblast it in (messy and you could do damage..plus you have to have a air compressor and sand blaster..)

It is on the dash, but many theifs that are looking to sell the car simply remove the VIN plate. I guess what this guy is trying to do is put it on all the windows, so even if the theif breaks a window to get in, the VIN is on the other 3 and it may not be worth it to replace all the windows if you are going to resell it when you could just steal another car.

Check with your Local P.D. Autocrimes unit... they will usually do it for free...

I just had mine done last week.. saved 15% on Auto-insurance!! 😎

there's 4-5 places in each car where the VIN is noticable, but then theres also 15-20 hidden spots in each car, some only known (supposedly) to police.
