i was trying to run clonecd in WinAspi32 mode but it tells me it can't open WinAspi32...what the hell is WinAspi32 and how do i enable it...i used to be able to use it in that mode in win2k before, but i reinstall win2k again and now am not able to any more...can anybody help please!

Probably because you've had an ASPI driver of some sort (Adaptec perhaps?) installed on the older win2k version. But why do you want to run clonecd in that mode? I don't and it works like a breeze 🙂

is it better to run in the non WinAspi mode?? i don't even know what its suppose to do...so i guess the normal mode is better??

Yes it is better not to use aspi with win2k. I don't know if plextor have released an aspi-driver for win2k (in win98 these come with the install). Sony (my cdrw) haven't, so I try not to use programs that uses aspi drivers for the burner. When I installed adaptec easy-cd creator 4.02, an adaptec aspi was installed, and I use this when I have to (like with cdrwin and Easy cdc of course). I must admit I haven't tried clonecd in aspi mode, but the best thing is to use non-aspi modes when available. These are my experiences allthough I don't know much about aspi drivers. Hope it helps 🙂

Oh yeah, the aspi is a program like any other api's. It tells the OS how to use the hardware. It seems like some program rely on it and some don't. Sorry I don't know anything more about this technical stuff.

I use Cdrwin and Nero with my Sony Burner in win2k and both require the Aspi layer to be installed. It is very easy to do and these programs work great. I also use CloneCD in Aspi mode and it works great too (just can't read subcode data).

my $.02 worth.
