How to enable network status tray icon in Win98SE?

There's a checkbox in Win2k and XP to enable/disable the network status tray icon. My friend's Win98SE system doesn't have that checkbox though. Is there a way to enable it in Win98SE?

Not that I know of...why does everyone want this? There was just a post about this the other day. I say, the less things in my systray, the better! 🙂

I believe there are shareware programs that do the same thing though.

So you can see whether there's a network connection, and can monitor incoming/outgoing traffic. 🙂 I figured if they had that for dial-up connection, they'd have it for ethernet connection too. Guess not! (found the other topic you were referring to.)
