How to enable dual fifo? hehe, funny name, but how do I enable it?

thats still a funny name 🙂

My DVDROM and burner won't work because dual fifo isn't enabled. It says that its been dynamically disabled in Device Manager.

I'm running on win98se now
 
Funny, I had the same problem. Had to install some update provided by the chipset manufacteurer. What brand is yourt motherboard?
 
Dual First-In-First-Out is a feature of the IDE Controller in the PIIX4E....er....southbridge of the BX chipset.

Normally Win98SE should be able to detect it just fine and set it up correctly. If not, then you should try and install the Chipset inf Drivers.
