I inserted my dvdRAM disc and tried to drag and drop the files onto it,windows didn't write to it just said that the files were ready to be writen.
I need it to write to DVDRAM directly, can someone please help me get the settings right?

Windows XP does not support DVD burning only CD burning. There should be software that came with your DVD burner that you can use to burn the DVD.

If not try a burning program like Nero.

The problem is Windows can only do that if the disc is formatted FAT32, which is slow as snot.

UDF will be the default and Windows won't use the disc the way you want. You will need packet writing driver like InCD or DirectCD.
