Would this be necessary if someone uses opendns nameservers in their router?

As far as I could see, OpenDNS doesn't offer HTTPS DNS security. If it does then you wouldn't need to use the browser DNS setting since it would be at the router level.

But I think this is a good feature anyway in case you don't control your network/PC's DNS settings and want to have DNS queries encapsulated with HTTPS.

Thanks. This is something I definitely hadn't heard of or even considered. It's worth a look considering our ISP's are getting more intrusive.

Also, I have noticed faster resolution speeds and page loading times after switching to their DNS servers from my computer and phone which is nice!
