How to Enable AGP 4x for my new V-Card?

I recently installed a Gainward Ti 450 display adapter and noticed it is running in AGP 2x mode even though the mainboard (Asus CUSL2-c) is AGP 4x enabled. For this situation, the Gainward manual states that the AGP driver (VGARDT.VXD) may need to be updated. I searched the Intel site for both updated chipset (815e) and AGP drivers, but did not find anything that addressed the issue. I currently have Nvidia's 28.32 Dentonator driver installed for WinXP. Can some one please tell me how to correct this problem.

Thanks for the help.

viagart.vxd is Win 98
viaagp1.sys is Win 2K or XP
I would do a search in C drive and delete anything as above to clean system (including same with .inf extension)

then go to Viaarena.com drivers page and d/l 4.10b AGP (XP) driver and install
