at the race track during fun ford weekend I SH1T you not... one of my opponants in bracket racing was a ford powered armored car....
he was given a 19 sec head start on my 10 second mustang... and I still beat him =-p

Not efficiency, just acceleration. Most trucks wouldn't be able to get rolling without turboed diesel engines.

No, diesel engines have a higher thermal efficiency when fitted with a proper turbocharger system.

Exactly...heh. It's so nice driving to work @ 11pm instead of rush hour, and on the way home, everyone is going the other way.

I often on the way home have people pull over to the right when I'm like a 1/4 mile away still...it's kinda comical. I can almost see them going "OMG CRAZY FAST CAR DRIVER PULL OVER!!!!!".

Eliminating turbo chargers would be idiotic as most large diesel trucks utilize them as well as many consumer trucks and even volvos for crying out loud. It's an effective and relatively inexpensive way to create more power without using more space, which is necessary for a lot of towing vehicles and helpful for many passenger vehicles with design limitations.

Why don't you just ban all aftermarket everything. If it's not on the car when it leaves the lot new, it's not legal. That way if you want a fast car you're gonna have to pay for it. Should cut out at least 90% of the teenage kiddies out there that think a 20ft wing, 6" pipe, and fake NAWWWZZZ bottle make their car the best on the planet.

back a couple weeks ago i went to the last edition of the rocky mountain raceway midnight drags for the season. They had police cars drag racing each other. Freakin hilarious. They ran like 17's-19s

Provide open roads specifically for racing.
= reduce street racing.
Right now, people don't really have much alternatives to street racing other than to paying $100+ to go to a crappy track for a few hours.
