How to Eat Ramen Like a Pro

There's this place in the northern Atlanta burbs called Umaido, the rich soup Tonkotsu ramen there is delicious and only $9. Much better than any instant ramen (Shin, Noguri, Sapporo Ichiban) that I ever had. It's like pizza, you can have real pizza at a nice pizza restaurant or microwaveable.

Grocery store ramen is the equivalent of less than $1 frozen pizza.

Every year, I'll go to an Asian supermarket and buy every brand of ramen that they have to do my taste tests. Shin Ramen sucks ass. But Shin Ramen Black is quite good:

My goto place is Haru Ichiban in Duluth, GA. It's $11 for special Tonkotsu ramen during lunch and it's pretty good and filling. It's run by Japanese and the cooks are Japanese as well. Umaido is Korean owned and the cooks are Korean. I tend to stick with real Japanese places for Japanese food and Korean places for Korean food.

Both of those are pretty good. I think it's pretty much agreed Koreans make the best instant ramen. Japanese ramen are bland and can't compare. US ramen are inedible.
