How to Eat Ramen Like a Pro

I had a roommate once who ate it dry, right out of the package. Like a candybar D:

If you add in the dry condiment pack, it is a crunch snack. Taiwanese kids love that. I still do. But it is not the same anymore since the noodle is no longer deep fried.

There is now a snack product that is the dry instant noodle plus seasoning and in bite size cubes.

haha... I know those guys.

They were ESL teachers from Canada. They taught in South Korea for 4-5 years. Now their show has taken off and they do it full time.

I've tried ramen, like the 20 cents a pack ramen at walmart. It was understandably awful. Is there any brand that sells for more that is actually semi decent in the US?

The ramen I buy at the grocery store is $1.00 - 1.50. Its much better than the 15 cent crap. Add some egg and veggies and its a meal. By itself, its s nice snack.

We still usually have some in the house here.

My first wife loved the stuff when I was living in Hawaii 30+ years ago, she was almost local and ate things I wouldn't and I'm pretty flexible, I still like it myself with Tuna and soy sauce now and then.

I'd actually seen a good recipe somewhere at one time to use crush up the noodles and the flavor packet while camping and use it as breading on freshly caught bass or trout on a campfire, though I've never done that.

Mmmm, those snacks are awesome, but so bad for you... I wouldn't do it anymore (eat it out of the package) with the full packs that's meant to be boiled and cooked though. Love those snack sized ones.

Mama brand is not bad but I think you will have to go to an Asian grocery store to buy them.

same. that stuff is great.

That stuff is also my current favorite for ramen. My local Asian market usually has a 20 pack from 13-14 dollars.

My favorite way of hacking it would be to add an egg, enoki mushrooms, baby bok choy, pork ribs and some chicken hearts.

Crackhead spaghetti, Korea style. AKA grab whatever meager shit you have in the pantry, and mix it together.

You don't "hack" food.

Especially ramen, which is basically designed and intended as a starchy platform/filler for whatever you want to actually put in it.

If people put as much work into learning how to cook as they do making ramen palatable, they'd never need ramen again

Even the healthy food is bad for you. So live it up.
