I'm a whitey, my body wants to fall backwards but I can get pretty balanced. Trick is to take some weight off my heals, while keeping them touching the ground.

Edit: Heels. I'm playing too much damn WoW again >.>

I do that all the time... used to have to when I worked at the museum. Nothing like doing demos for curious 5-6 year olds at their eye level.

<-- As white as they come.

I'm from Asia as well and I can't do it well....I tried pivoting my toes outwards and spreading my legs far but then i strain my ball and socket joint. Too uncomfortable. I can do the "Western squat" a LOT easier...when I do the asian squat, it must be forced and my legs are in an unatural position. That and doing the western squat, I can bounce out of it whereas I can't in the asian squat...

You need to add a "Can't" option for the first question and a "Can" option for the second

I can't do it, Mostly its because my thighs are too big and my trousers are too tight when in that position, also because my calfs are too big to lower my thighs enough to get the centre of gravity right, and lastly because i don't have enough flexibility in my ankles. I'd fall into the "African-American" category out of the ones there i suppose..
