How to dissable Belkin Spam Ad on Router

This really pisses me off. How do I turn this off???

I read a bunch of stuff that there was supposed to be a new firmware sometime. I also read that there was some way to turn off the "feature" that hijaks a URL and redirects to their parental control ad.

All the stuff I found on this is a year old, and there is no info that I can find on Belkin's site

Please help its really annoying. I surprised that some enterprising hacker didn't "respond" to Belkin over this.

ughhh.

OatMan, the easy way would be to buy a new $20 after MIR wireless router - they seem to be all over the place now.

For extra satisfaction, make sure to give your old Belkin router an appropriately violent removal from service 😉

ughhh.

i read many posts similar to yours concerning the router hijacking URLs, but i own a belkin wireless 802.11b router and i never experienced any problems like that.

what's up with that

The problem surfaced last year. I probably bought a older one with an old firmware. They don't have a newer firmware on the site though...

I already got screwed with this one. I bought it during the CrapUSSR rebate sale only to find that it was "internet only" and that they wouldn't honor the rebate if purchased from a store. I figured I'd just do a dipsy doodle and purchose one online and return it to the store, but the sale ended that day and it was too late the next day.

Basically I shelled out $40 bucks for an old crappy "b" wireless router that I should have paid half or less for. I don't want to eath the 15% and don't care enough to go through the rigor-maroll.

11Mbit is faster than my disks and Cable modem anyway, so there is no benifit from the "faster" router/switches.

I read that there is a way to disable it without a firmware update, but I can't find specifics. Someone know the proceedure, or know of a "fixed" firmware?

Thanks!!!
