How to disappear and begin a new identity, legally?

Well, assuming you just needed to escape and have a fresh beginning, how could you do this? New ID, DL, PP, ect. Anyone got a resource for doing this?
Most of what I have found on the web is mostly bogus, offering little but a huge price.

Some of you who know me, know that I've had a bit of strife in the past year. No matter how hard I work, I just can't resolve anything. I continue to hand over all my paychecks to people I owe, but cannot get square. I seem to get one thing caught up, but another 10 slip away. I am insolvent, but yet cannot declare bankruptcy, as I already did that about 5 years ago. I have never in my 43 years of living, considered the option I am questioning, but just can seem to find no peace lately. I work at least 55 hours per week, but do not see a way.
Any insight would be much appreciated.

***Not really gonna try and do this, btw. Just blowing a little steam off*** 😉

I suppose you could always turn in a drug lord or Mafia crime boss, and then get yourself into the Federal Witness Protection Program... 😛 Otherwise, if you can forge a birth certificate, I suppose you could then get a new ssn# and then a new D/L. But that's not exactly legal. In this day and age, your Permanent Record follows you even after high school.
 
Even if you change your Identity, your SSN stays the same, and that's all the creditors need really.
But why can't you file for bankrupcy again? Is there a limit on how often you can do it?
 
Maybe you can go to another country for a while and come back as someone else.

Or like in Arlington Road, change your name to someone that died the day before. That way, if they look up the history on you, they'll see the history of the guy that passed away and there will be no overlapping of dates. :Q😎
 
Can't really do it legally. You could move to the UK, Canada or a largely english speaking country, it's hard for creditors to track you. Hang out there for 5-7 years & come back. You can still post on Anandtech😉

Aside from referring to Red's advanced age & physical condition...

It's much harder to do the identity thing nowdays, if you do it illegally, you'll have to worry about getting enough quarters in under the new SS# to collect when you're old.
 
Well I hate to kick somebody when they're down, but you mention in your sig, white Christian, and Republican. I don't got too much problem with the first two, but that Republican thing, isn't that sort of like saying you support the economic system that's driving you to distraction. I'm thinking of some of the socialist countries where people have jobs, not maybe great ones and not maybe much money, but their life needs are pretty guaranteed, and they don't suffer the terrific economic angst we do. Maybe, for one thing, you could start voting your real interests, not your fantasies. The beautiful thing about the system as it is though, is that if you make it to success, you get to pat yourself on the back and proclaim yourself to be a real somebody rather than just in the right place at the right time.

I don't know the answer to your problem. There are tons of angles that need to be explored. Maybe you need to change your line of work, or work for somebody else as in a regular job. There is, in other words, a host of emotional issues you may not be dealing with rationally, or it may be systemic as in we're all going into bad times. It does make me sad to think we have built a dog eat dog world though, and not one in which a community stands behind each of us in times of difficulty.


 
The operative word here is " legally".
Your main problem is the way you receive compensation. If the bulk of your compensation for work performed is in the form of a paycheck, you?re screwed.
It is perfectly legal to received a company car, meals and lodging if it can be shown that this is necessary to the job requirement.
No judgment can be used to grab these items.
Some ideas, bodyguard, butler, house sitter, personal assistant. You will have an easy time finding these given the fact that most of these positions are filled by foreigners. There is a demand for white anglos.



edit: offer your creditors a few bucks a week while you wait for the 7 year bankruptcy limit to expire. At that time you can wipe them out again with a bankruptcy. Of course this won't work if you have certain types of court ordered payments.

This is all legal but is it moral and ethical? You betcha, no man or system has a right to make you a slave. Use the same legal system to wipe the bunch of them out.

 
Well, I guess you are too old to join the French Foreign Legion. They take any one from any country without any ID. They change your name too if they accept you.

BUt hey, since the electin is coming up, ever thought of being an 'P.I." for your political party? That's a job that never lacks demand. There are tons of federal dollars for it too. Hell, they only blew 300mil on the lewinsky thing.
 
LOL! This was just a test of opinion. Even though it feels like this sometimes, not something I would or will do. Sometimes it's nice to escape in our minds. 😀
 
I doubt its possible legally, because legally youre supposed to pay back debts.

If youre really in that much of a rut, your best bet is to take off and work off the books.
 
What happened this year? I was kinda outta touch with the forums for awhile during school and only remember you shutting down your web site store and selling off extra stock here. I remember someone made some reference to something people here did for you a few months ago, but couldn't find a thread about it.

Anyway, best of luck Steve, you're a stand up guy and I sincerely hope you overcome your troubles. 🙂

i can sell you my social security number. i have no bad credit and only 1 arrest for the minor offense of 'attempting to sell my social security number and taking the money and running'.
 
Go to South Africa. Buy a ticket back to the US or Canada, and ditch all ID upon arrival. Claim refugee status. Get a new SSN and makeup a different birthdate. Stay out of areas near your home or anywhere you have lived in the past. Go to a city or town and scout it out. Makeup a good background for yourself. Be vauge on the details. Make sure you let people know that you've dropped out of high school. Get your GED (shouldn't be too tough). Don't register to vote. You will have to work in lthe ow skilled or unskilled labor pool. Open one checking account, no savings accounts. Whenever possible, deal on a cash basis. If people ask you about yourself, stick to your background story. If they start to pry too much, mention that you spent some time in prison, you are trying to turn your life around and would rather not talk about it.

Need more advice? Feel free to ask. I've thought about doing this more than a couple of times just to escape.

There is NO way to do this legally for the reasons you state. You can change your name and get a new identity no problem, legally, for very specific reasons, none of them include escaping your financial obligations.

So any way you cut it, you will be committing some type of crime.

That's right, but you can always make yourself a slave of your own free will by getting yourself into debt.

The definition of "slave" that you're using would have the Africans jumping onto the slave ships of their own free will. That is not how they got here, BTW.
