How to disable win startup splash screen?

Ok, I'm sure this question have come up a few times before, but I just can't find them.. so here it is..
How do I disable the windows splash screen that kicks in when starts booting?
You know.. the blue sky screen with bottom line moving..
I use windows98 (not SE) and I wanna see what's going on while the system boots..

Hit escape during boot, or download tweakui.

you mean I have to hit esc everytime I boot the thing unless I install some tweaking software? Is there more permanent and simpler solution without installing a software..?

The way I did it was to install Tweakui and it gives you the opyion to disable the splash screen as well as a load of other useful things.find the latest version here: www.microsoft.com/ntworkstation/downloads/powertoys/networking/nttweakui.asp

You want to remove it permanently or temporarily? If you just want to get rid of it every now and then, just hit Esc and it's gone.

Yes, TweakUI can get rid of it, I'll see if I can't dig up how to do it with a registry key or something.
