Firefox + adblockplus

Seriously.
Not trying to be rude or anything, either, but i don't know why anyone would still want to use the abomination that is IE6/7.

Also, if you still need IE for whatever reasons, the view in IE extension for FF allows you to pull up IE for certain webpages if you need to.

Need to use IE for a custom built web based app.

Adblock or redirection will keep the content from being retrieved, but I don't think it will prevent the associated javascript from creating the window on rollover.

adshield might do the trick (not sure if it works with IE7, has not been updated in a while last I checked)

Grab the last free version of Helexis AdsFilter plugin for IE.

As with other such it acts like a smart hosts redirect but allowing wildcards. It will prompt for new versions occasionally however but not if helexis and adsfilter are blocked in the hosts file ;)

'nutha option is Maxthon or Avant shells for IE (not unlike Netscape and Firefox for Gecko).

There is also Foxie but I wouldn't recommend it.
