Router is Belkin wireless, but using the cables for now.

I have 2 boxes:
XP set at x.x.x.47
2003 set at x.x.x.48

Within the router, it is using DHCP, and lease time is forever.

Well.... somehow, router decided to flip the IP addresses for the box... not sure how or why, but since my webserver is on x.x.x.47:80, you can guess that it didn't work after the flip flop.

Figured if I turn to static IP, all would be set in stone.

Any suggestions or hints as to what I would need to set on my boxes would be helpful. I understand that within the router, I just setup the range for the boxes to be in x.x.x.40 - x.x.x.50 (as example), but not sure what information is needed to be modified or entered on individual box.

open network connections, right click your connection and open properties, double click 'internet protocal (tcp/ip), click the radio button to enter your own IP for the box, your subnet and gateway (routers ip).

keep all your boxes on the same subnet with the same gateway
