Well poop!Not as far as I know..it's now an integral part of Google and they are pushing it onto mobile sites alot now.
Just like the change to Google Assistant on all phones running 6.0 or higher, Google gonna do what Google wants, and you're going to take it.Agreed, it's giving Google even more power and making the web less neutral. Good discussion on Hackernews
Doesn't bring back the Now Feed, though. When you long-press home it prompts to enable Assistant, instead of the Feed.You can turn the assistant off.
That's not really disabling it, more of a workaround that spoofs you into a location that they haven't enabled Assistant for.That's not what articles I've seen have been saying.
