Just burn the sludge. Also burn all the people within 100 yards complaining about it. Fire can solve all these problems.

Or you could do what mythbusters did and rig a CD drive to ridiculous speeds and shatter them that way.

What about a sander or grinder.. or one of those wirewool-like drill bits to quickly grind through the plastic coatings and the data?

I am all for fun and the microwave does look fun however, I am not sure that Id class it as practical.

"Hey kids, instead of using these DVD's as frisbies, lets get out my second microwave and watch the pretty colours as they melt!!!"
