I have this quite old ICL monitor at home, well I have two of them, one which works well but has a grey and blurry picture, the other one has some kind of magnetic dissturbance (excuse my spelling) which I believe could be fixed with a degause. But there doesn't seem to be any?
These are 17" inch monitors porbably made of some sony trinitrons or older.
I'd really like to fix this, because I'm using the blurry one on my second computer, and the other one has good looking and sharp picture.
Some that has any hints?

If you can't find a degauss on the setting then the chances are that it's not an Apature Grille monitor and more likely to be a Shadow Mask. If thats correct. Someone might put me right on this.

Ok I've done some investigation work, and founf out that they are ICL-Fujitsi ErgoPro 17v monitors, about 6 years old, not that much comparing with some Hitachis I have from the 80's. And they are supposed to be good monitors.
I tried to get rid of the picture error by using an electro magnet, but the only result I got was that I could move it around, not get rid of it. I got this idea from an old friend.

Last I heard, small (17" and down) monitors didn't need much degaussing. So they were degaussed (love that word) when you shut them off or turned them on.
The picture quality could be increased by opening the case and doing some adjustment, by a professional repair guy. You could contact a local repair shop and talk to them. Maybe even a TV repair shop.
Good Luck.
