"GLSEN says there were only 10 copies on a table"

I guess you really had to be there to count the number of these examples of "literature" that were offered up.

The MassResistance group that is investigating the Brookline High School hosted event and others responds to your claim -

Now the gays are telling the press that "only ten" books were brought to the conference. That is another blatant lie. We were told by someone who picked up the book that "a big pile" of books was on the table. (And there were probably more stored in boxes below the table.) Unfortunately, the Boston media doesn't question that ridiculous assertion. (Does that sound familiar?)

BTW, how many copies do you think would be OK to distribute to middle school kids, grades 5 – 8, ages ages 11–14?

Zero. I do believe that sexuality and most of it's aspects should be discussed but from a strictly clinical viewpoint and at ages 14 and up. That book was more of a party guide IMO.

BTW as I was reading that online my lovely wife came up behind me and asked what I was reading. Being the confident Hetrosexual that I am I immediately clicked it off and told her it was nothing important:eek::D

How many Copies does that constitute and were there other Books?

I don't know and you don't know if any of these Booklets were distributed to anybody. Never mind school aged children. This article is all hearsay from both sides and by the way the Author characterizes the content within the Booklet I take everything he says with a giant grain of salt.

Have you checked out that book? Even if there was just one copy available there it was one too many for kids under 16.

That said is there any chance that literature like this will be available at schools nation wide? If not maybe this is much ado about nothing...or maybe not depending on ones perspective and political leaning.

I agree, it's too much for kids <16, but whether any got hold of the Booklet is another issue entirely.

Here is MediaMatters take on the same details
"In fact, a community health group -- not GLSEN itself -- reportedly said that it had mistakenly "left about 10 copies" of the booklet on an informational table it rented at the conference; the group reportedly apologized for doing so; GLSEN stated that if it had known the booklets had been at the conference, it would have demanded they be removed; and the Brookline school superintendent reportedly said he believed no students had actually taken any of the books."

2 things to note:

1) GLSEN did not put Books/Booklets out for Distribution
2) a Brookline School Superintendent claims that "he belived no students had actually taken any of the books."

The OP Article implies that GLSEN was involved in both those instances. Whose story is the most accurate?

Well given the history of Pjabber and his sources of fabricating and exaggerating this is probably the case.

I find it hard to believe that in predominantly Irish Catholic Boston that a School would knowingly allow those pamphlets to be distributed.

C'mon, MediaMatters was created only to push the liberal agenda. Why on Earth would you believe that GLSEN only "accidentally" put out copies of a book that it regularly promotes? Perhaps the school system didn't realize those books would be out (after all, we know how much the Catholic Church frowns on sexualizing children) but disseminating such books is one of the reasons GLSEN exists.

Ad hominem attacks like this are so.... boorish.

I challenge you to provide examples to back your claim.

If I have an opinion I identify it as my own. I don't fabricate and I don't exaggerate except with the most moderate of literary license and, sometimes, for the sake of humor. Progressives, welfare liberals and Democrats have no sense of humor, so it is perfectly understandable that the leftish don't get the jokes.

I regularly quote sources and I am up front on identifying my references. I also quote a variety of opinions that I do not personally subscribe to - for the sake of discussion and to contrast with my own opinions.

That may or may not be true, I dunno, but ironically the OP's article is from an Organization whose purpose is to basically do the opposite. So, potentially, we are discussing equally Agenda ridden Orgs claims which may or may not be twisting everything beyond anything resembling Truth.

Boorish are your OPs for every thread you start which usually includes a little personal note of your daily life which isn't interesting in the least

OK take this thread for example

Well maybe because those who actually have a sense of humor prefer our jokes to be funny not ironic

I regularly quote sources and I am up front on identifying my references. I also quote a variety of opinions that I do not personally subscribe to - for the sake of discussion and to contrast with my own opinions.
Well Breitbart and Fox News really aren't a variety

True - but let's not forget the gist of the matter; the books were there.

The question is will they be in other classrooms. I believe that answer is no.

That's no excuse, though. Think about it in another light. "The governor killed two children in his back yard with a shotgun. But, he was drunk and will probably never do it again."

Ok an alleged incident that is shown to be exaggerated is the same as shooting someone. You sound like you still believe there are hidden WMD;s in Iraq.

No problems with this kind of literature being distributed etc, but not to kids, and especially not in school. That stuff is clearly for adults. Anyone crazy enough to think that exposing children to that crap is OK is obviously not fit to be near kids, let alone be in a position of power in government with regards to schooling. Time to contact my senators and congressional reps to tell them to get this prick out of there pronto, or face another angry voter donating to their opponent's campaign.

Conservatives are all touting, war mongering, anti-education homophobes.

See, two sides can play the over-generalization game.

Also, they hate minorities, women, and anyone who wasn't born in the US or doesn't follow the Christian faith.

This thread is thinly veiled gay bashing, end of story. It's one of the only acceptable prejudices left, and apparently ya gotta hate somebody.

See now it's passages like this that genuinely make me wonder if PJABBER is just someone's sock puppet trolling account, or if there could really be someone with this little self awareness who is able to successfully operate a keyboard.

There is a clear difference between gay bashing and bashing someone who is the "Safe School Czar" who obviously has very very very poor judgment on what is appropriate for kids and what is adult material. This idiot Jennings needs to go, he's a danger to kids.
