OK, I've had my share of unpleasant encounters with DELL as a consumer, however I've recently been tasked with procuring a server in my job and really need to get this done ASAP. I've had no idea as a SB customer I'd have the same problems I did as a home consumer.
First of all, the company I worked for had a previous account with DELL, until our parent company outsourced everything to IBM (another clusterf***). We had split with our parent company and now we are on the way of phasing out everything IBM looking for another contractor. In the meantime we need to procure a development server so I told my boss DELL thinking they will be easier and cheap.
I placed the order, put in my company ID number and checked out. However they say I need to further confirm info with their rep, who should be contacting me soon. So ok, I receive an email acknowledging the order, and after waiting for 2 days I get no emails, while I did send a few emails out to their customer service and received no response. Called them up today very pissed off and only to talk to the same GODDAM INDIAN TEAM for Home Sales. this guy can't even spell my name right (finally did after 3 times). After explaining the whole situation to him all I get is an accented canned response "I'm sorry i can't help you further here I will have to redirect you (back to America)"
After talking to another rep I finally got to the point where they will let me talk to a SB sales rep, only to get his answering machine. I'm gonna email bomb this mofo and ask them to call me back. I mean I'm placing a server that cost 10k!! It's not a lot but damn, doesn't anybody there work for commission? WTF is this putting me on hold kicking me over 5 different continents for a SERVER SALE??? :disgust:
I'm done ranting, if you deal with Dell as a business, please share with me your experiences, also contacts for good sales reps are appreciated. I wouldn't mind getting good deals even though it IS company money.
Thanks
