I've had sucess with two plungers. hold one over the drain in one sink and plunge with the other.

This will work too. Key is you have to isolate where clog is. air and water will take path of least resistance which is open areas such as other drain or dishwasher overflow they must be forceably blocked.

... how I've gotten this unblocked in the past is close off air on one side, and on dishwasher overflow. Then I have rubber cup that hooks to air compressor and blow it out.

If I cam use my 200 psi compressor I'm all ears.

But I'd prefer to not rupture my plumbing.

Think Bout this, would you rather get the clog out of your kitchen.area or try and fi.d it after you air blast it and it gets stuck.who noes where?

You get a man to fix it for you. That's how you deal with it. Too bad you're not a real man and have to post this shit.

Guess so. Totally disassembled the sink plumbing and snaked a good 20 feet. Target remains. I repeat target remains.

Calling a plumber. My time is not worth this.

My sink plugs fairly often. Ususally I boil a few pots of water simultaneously and pour it all down. Hasn't failed me yet.

If boiling water clears the clog, you're dumping too much grease down your sink.

Grease belongs in the trash...not the sink.

I keep a can of grease in the freezer. Whenever I have a greasy pan, I pour the grease into the can. When the can fills up, I throw it out.

I eats me a lottta bacon.

That's good. Bacon is perhaps the most important food group of the day...but the grease still doesn't belong in your sink and plumbing.

BTW, who remembers what you get when you mix animal fats with lye?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soap

Congealed fat, when mixed with lye (drano-type products) can turn into a soap-like residue in your pipes...and that can be a REAL PITA to get cleaned out if it causes a clog.

Should have been your 1st move. I hate plumbing, never worth the time or hassle. Breaking pipes or getting it back together to find leaks is not fun. I always end up calling someone who knows what they are doing.

WAHOO! Mancard retained! 300+ bucks saved!

We plunged the shit out of it again after I got a more heavy duty plunger from lowes. That didn't work, there was no plunging that would get this.

I then snaked the shit outta it. Probably an hours worth. This was my last chance. Probably went in 25+ feet deep. I'm throwing the kitchen sink at this clog before I call a plumber (pun intended).

My neighbor was kind enough to lend me one of these. The snaking, combined with this allowed me to hear water flowing out of the house from the main. Funny thing is wife was sitting on the couch when he brought it over and we kept calling it "a dildo" and how you could really fuck up a person with one of these things. You use your water pressure to clear the clog.

Those work very well on most clogs. Good to hear you got things flowing again.

Clog buster work well most of the time, but a weak joint might blow by the water pressure before the water can dislodge the clog (such as, MJ or mechanical joint/s. Drainage piping and joint aren't design to handle city pressure water...plumbing code call for 10' of standing water test or 4.3 psi, which is well below the house hold pressure reducing valve of 65~85 psi/or city water pressure of up to 110~115 psi.)

Another note that was mentioned by other posters is that the dis washer hose should be hook up to the garburator, as the water pressure (pump) is ultilize to minimize clog/s.

You could neutralize the lye with vinegar or some other acid. Be careful, you should use safety glasses if you do anything that might splash that stuff.

Yeah. I was a little iffy on using pressure to clear it and was monitoring the plumbing in the basement (finished) to make sure I didn't have a bust.

There is no way any (sober) conscious person is going to let you insert that into their rectum let alone with a hose connected to a high pressure supply!

Funny thing is wife was sitting on the couch when he brought it over and we kept calling it "a dildo" and how you could really fuck up a person with one of these things.

Blowing a joint on a sanitary line is no joking matter. The end result is quite craptacular. D: If his house isn't that old chances are he has plastic which should be able to take the pressure. ;)
