Hello All,

I have a MPEG file which is about 727MB in size, I need to lower it to about 700MB so that I can fit into a CDR.
I tried

1. TMPGEn - My pc run out of memory. (P!!!750 384MB SDRAM)
2. Adobe Premier 6.0 - it hang.
3. virtualdub - only do AVI.

Please advise, thanks.

Yeah, noticed that a few times when a volume ran out of diskspace while copying it. Just put a limit on a volume/partition and copy to it over the network. If you do it directly to a local partition it will notice the maximum size and not allow it, but this way it will work.

yo man,

it works!
I tried on at about 100MB and it works!!
I'll been downloading trialware all afternoon and the solution is so simple!

THANKS!!!

you just save me time and $$$

one last question.

will it affect the playability of the mpeg to be broken off like that?

thanks.

If the mpeg is a VCD, there's a program called VCDCutter that is really easy to use.

And if TMPEng ran out of memory, then something might be wrong there...I've never had an error like that converting stuff to VCDs, running an Athlon 650 with 256 PC133.

you wont get the whole thing, but if there are credits at the end that may not be a bad thing. sometimes you can just over burn.

cool!
I was trying to burn Band of Brothers Episode 7 The Breaking Point.
That is a preview of Episode 8 at the back, that's why it is so big.
Can't wait for the DVD, this series owns!

royaldank, the trial version only let you cut 10s clip with VCDCutter. I don't feel like spending money when I don't know whether it will withstand 1 hours ++ of video.
I don't understand why TMPGEng run out of memory too. I was using the special merge and cut function in v2.X.

Will try it again soon, looks like a good program...

thanks everyone.

Are you being punished or under some kind of probation?
Why is your tag "Lifer"??? :Q:Q
