Hey guys.. I'm new to the forum.. don't know if this has been posted alot, but I've got a quick question.

I'm running 2K's FTP service with anonymous users. I want to create an account just for me, and so I have full privileages to the C:\ drive. Unfortunately, I've already tried getting the Admin account to start in c:\, but it won't work.

Can anyone give me the rundown? Thanks!!!

well see the way it works is that since the ftp server is part of the OS, you dont make users for the ftp service, you make users for the machine, i.e. user management. the user logs in w/ the same username and password as if they were right there at the computer logging in

i had the same question quite a while ago

EDIT: about your second question, right click the user, and go to properties, thats where you control the "start in" directory. if that doesnt work then i dont know

bbwf is right, you need to set up regular user accounts just like you would for a local person's account. then people can ftp into your machine using that account. there are always security implications when using ftp, but i won't get into that.

if i were you i'd create a second account to login to your computer and NOT use the administrator account to log into your ftp. someone could monitor a ftp transmission easily, have your admin login/pass and you might end up having a 13 year old oWnZing your computer. (very bad if you want any privacy)

ok maybe i did touch on the bad security of ftp... so sue me.
