still, being able to exchange is nice. no restocking fee, no having to wait weeks for mail..no having to pay mailing charges. beats the pants off buying online if you care about dead pixels. for laptops just keep an inverter in the car. run it off ac and walk straight back in if the screen is funky. heck, u can hook an lcd to a laptop and run both off a half decent inverter hooked to the ciggie lighter.. no driving back and forth. just an extra walk to and from the car.

Every retail store has a restocking fee...dead pixels != defective

Ok since nobody gave you a solution , here's mine ( it wont cause dead pixels, but the lcd goes to hell ), open your microwave , put the lcd next to the door and start it, in a 17'' LCD you just have 1310720 dead pixels, other option is to put a clip inside the air holes in the lcd making a short circuit , agian you'll have 1.310.720 DP

this was told me by a friend who works in a computer megastore in casa i have less then 4 dp.
