there isnt a 'new' option on the file menu.....?

Hi there,

You have to create your document via Word (or similar programs). Once you are done, you have to print the document using Adobe Acrobat's Distiller printer driver. It should create a PDF file.

oh ok, thats cool, I'll have to mess around with it a little. I was wondering what the distiller was. thanks for the help

when i try to make a word document, this comes up as an erorr in distiller:

Start Time: Tuesday, June 25, 2002 at 4:58 PM
Destination: C:\Documents and Settings\James\Desktop\CD Keys.pdf
Source: CD Keys.doc
%%[ Error: undefined; OffendingCommand: ÐÏࡱá ]%%
%%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%%
%%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %%
Distill Time: 0 seconds (00:00:00)
**** End of Job ****

what am i doing wrong?

I thought the distiller was for making PDFs from PS files. I always use the "Acrobat PDFWriter" printer driver. Give it a try.

it put a button on my word tool bar, i just used that.

or when you goto File --> Print, it should be alongside "Acrobat Distiller" under the "Select Printer" area on the General Tab..

The most common post script errors with PDF's and PS printers (in my experience) are related to fonts.

Of course, I never tried to make a PDF from Word. Always Quark Xpress, Adobe Indesign, or Illustrator.
