How to copy old HD to new HD?

Moving on up from a Spinpoint 500gb to a nice 1tb Caviar Black. With this purchase I also get this program Arconis True Image.

I'm wondering, due to the fact I can't find my vista ulti install disc if I can just clone the HD over to the 1tb?. Also I should mention that the spinpoint was having issues with some back sectors and then scandisc deleting bad sectors.

These errors don't get cloned over do they?

Will the clone work?

Powernick50,
I just copied my OS and data from a Maxtor to a new WD Black 500GB and the WD software worked like a champ; you can download it from their support website. Acronis will also do the same and I believe they will both check the disk integrity before copying. My "guess" is that they will not copy a bad sectore....anyone??

I've heard that some cloning software can be set to ignore bad sectors. I haven't done any cloning of "bad" disks lately, so I have no experience with it.
