how to copy a audio cassette to a cd?

I got to make copies of few cassettes for my friend. I do not know how to make cd copies from a cassette. Is there a way?

Take a cassette player and hook it up to the Line In jack of your sound card. Use WAV recording software to record the tracks off of the cassette. Then burn the WAVs to a CD. Remember though that it's common for a cassette to hold more music than a CD. (90 min cassette vs. 74 min CD.)

I use Nero's WAV editor, but Exact Audio Copy has a WAV editor in it too I think. Download.com should have a few freeware WAV recorders too.

EDIT: I think you need a separate WAV editor/recorder if you are using Adaptec.

Where can I get me one of them cables to connect my cassette out to my audio in? What's it called, so maybe they'll know what I'm talking about.

Your local RadioShack should carry them... There's where I got mine...
