how to convert .mpe format into quicktime?

I have a video in .mpe format and need it in quicktime to present on a mac, is there any way to convert it?

quicktime pro can do that but I think quicktime itself on the mac can play mpeg files so there is no need to convert

If you can open it in Quicktime player, you can export it as a different format with the pro version of Quicktime.

Might be easier to find a player for .mpe on the mac. 😛

Personally, I'd leave the MPEG alone.

it has to be inserterted in a powepoint presentation on a mac, thats why i need it to be in a different format.

You realize that quicktime, Mac OS's built in video player, plays mpeg files, right?

What you're asking to do is akin to saying "I have an mpeg file and need to convert it to AVI to use on windows".

Mpegs play jsut fine on windows... and Mac OS.

quicktime says its not a file quicktime understands.

played fine in my browser using quicktime plugin. you might wanna reinstall latest quicktime 6.2

but all i see is 6.1 as the latest version.
