i have a bunch of music files in mpa format that i want to burn into audio cd.
the problem is, nero won't recognize the mpa format, and refuses to burn the songs.

what can i use to convert the mpa's to mp3's?
or, is there an alternative cd audio burner (preferably free) that i can use to accomplish that?

thanks.

i got mpa media files from etymonix media raider.
basically i tried to rip off the audio track from a karaoke cd and convert them into regular audio cd to listen to in the car...

but the problem is that etymonix gives me mpA format, instead of mp3 format..
so i have to somehow find a way to convert mpa to mp3 or nero won't burn it for me...
winamp, media player, etc, all plays mpa just fine.
but nero just refuses to recognize the file format... -(

i haven't been able to download dbpoweramp, but i'll give it a try once i get my turn in using the phone line (damn dialup ><;; .. )

dBpoweramp was just what I needed to convert my MPAs to MP3s, thanks!
This was the 14 day or 21 day or whatever free demo. I really like the way it adds itself to the Windows Explorer context menu. It made my conversion tasks very simple.
I will probably buy the non-expiring product, as it's $38 and seems like it would meet my conversion needs on an ongoing basis.
