how to convert midis to mp3???

Also, i read up on winamp and using some kind of output mp3 plugin...how does that work?

First I would have to ask: Why?

Second, midi is not an audio format. What you're trying to do is the equivalent of text to speech.

You'll need quality sample banks to produce results worthy of even MP3.

If you set Winamp to play MIDI's, you might be able to use the DiskWriter output plug-in(?) to write a WAV file that can then be compressed to MP3.

It's going to sound like crap.

The only way to get good sounding MIDI is with good quality sample banks ($$$).

True, but to the ear that can stand 128Kbps MP3's (no offense bmacd), I think this simple solution might do the trick

this wasn't for me...a friend needed some midis converted. They sound like video game music, i'm not really sure. Either way, i ended up googling it and found a nice write up and ended up downloading iTunes, which will burn them right from a playlist. Thanks guys
