I have dial-up and I don't want to download Half-Life. I heard you can convert it to Steam. I have Half-Life, Opposing Force and Blue-Shift installed. How do I convert these to Steam?

I want to play em online with the steam servers and have them patched.

I know I can use the Steamless patch.

You have to register the Half-Life game with your Steam account... Go to Games > Activate a product on Steam.

I *think* if you already have it installed it will detect that, but I'm not 100% sure.

HL, OF and BS is registered and it hasn't said it detected it. It wants to download the whole game.

On dial-up, I dont think you will get a decent ping rate.
Too bad it costs a lot to download the whole game...

I use to play HL on dial up all the time and some mods. The netcode is pretty good. Never really had lag issues. Wish I could e-mail Steam. I can't find any direct e-mail.
