How to Control Power Management in Mandrake 8.1

Hello, I just installed Mandrake 8.1 on a box I am only using for distributed computing, and since I am totally newbie to NIX I hope someone can tell me how to disable any power management stuffs. I just dont want the HDD to shut down or sleep or shut down the monitor.. I want to be able to just turn off the monitor at night manually and keep the system active with the DC engine crunching away all night.

Thanks for any tips

John

Mandrake by default, save for laptop installs, will NOT enable powermanagement, what it will do is blank the screen, this however affects nothing but the videocard in terms of performance. Obviously if its blanked the screen the videocard is idle no? you can change this setting but I forget how as it's mostly useful for me. enjoy the *nix experience.
