How to connect t-bird to KT7 Raid board?

I can't seem to figure this thing out, and the manual was no help either. The TCPU1 on the Raid board gets in the way of locking the T-bird chip to it. What am I doing wrong?

Ok...I lifted the lever and placed the chip over the socket. Do you know what the TCPU1 is? It basically checks the temperature of the CPU. Anyway...it sticks up from the center of the Socket and it prevents the chip from locking down. I must be missing something, and I apologize for my stupidity if I am.

Just lock it down anyway, it's ok if the Tbird bends the thing...it's there to keep track of the Tbirds core temp. If you bend it down before putting the cpu on you might bend it too much so it won't be able to get a good reading, so just let the CPU bend it down as you lock it in.

Ok...2 things are stopping me from doing that. One is, I'm afraid the darn thing is gonna break off..and two, I'm afraid I may break the chip from forcing it in. Do I bend to the side, or do I push down on it?

Try bending it just a bit with your finger before putting the proc on, just be sure that you don't bend it down so much that it doesn't touch the bottom of the Tbird once it does get on. I've heard of a lot of people bending it down too much and now they can't get an accurate temp reading.

Everything I've read says it's a REQUIREMENT to bend that thing down before you try to put the chip in . You won't break it. --ANd I PROMISE, you'd rather break that thing than the chip.

I didn't realize you could bend it without it breaking off. Thanks. I did it, and it seems fine now :)
