how to connect an ati 9500 dvi out to dvi input of an HDTV?

It already works in dos/bios or during windows bootup but when my pc finishes loading winXP pro the ati card just shuts off the image on my hdtv. I have been playing around with the displays setting in the ati control panel but could not enable the dvi output . Anyone know how I can make this work? THe HDTV im trying to get this to work on is the Samsung TXN2798HF .
