Hey guys, I am looking forward to buy a 24/27 inch monitor that has 1ms response time which is perfect for online gaming. I will be connecting my PS4 with it. But I want my speakers to give me sound and not my monitor. I have 5.1 speakers and I want those speakers to give me the audio.
The monitor will be having 3.5 mm port.
So, I will be connecting the monitor to my PS4 via HDMI cable but how will I connect those 5.1 speakers so that I get the sound from the speakers ?

The 3.5mm port on the monitor is probably only an input port. Even if it is an output port it will only pass on a sterero(2.0) signal, not 5.1

What speakers do you have?

what speakers are you using?
the ps4 has optical out. On the off chance that your speakers have optical in (not common; found on things like the logitech z906/z5500), you can use an optical cable and set your ps4 to output audio through optical with dolby digital 5.1/dts encoding.

Easy just get something like a Denon E-300 use the HDMI out to connect to the monitor and the HDMI for the PS3.
Calibrate the speakers and enjoy

What kind of speaker system is it?

I am using Creative 5.1 Speakers.

But I have now connected my PS4 to my 40 inch 3D SMART LED TV and using its sound. But when I play online, I use SteelSeries 5HV2.

If you're gaming with a PS4, do you really need 1 ms response time?

Yes , kinda coz it reduces input lag. and I have bought BENQ XL2411T.
