How to compile Linux Mandrake 7.1 kernel?

I'm trying to get LM7.1 working with my Linksys 10/100 Ethernet card, and the Linksys site basically says I need to d/l the latest tulip driver (Done), move it into /usr/src/linux/drivers/net, and compile the kernel.

The problem is that a /usr/src/linux directory doesn't exist. Is this handled differently by Mandrake? Where do I put the tulip.c file and is there anything special I need to do? Thanks,
