how to clean a monitor screen?

hey, my brother's laptop has dust caked all over his screen. what's the best way to clean a laptop screen without scratching/damaging it?

I use a damp 100% cotton tshirt. Read the manual. They probably recommend using a cotton cloth with LCD cleaner.

I use a lint cloth that comes with Compaq notebook (Thank you Compaq/HP) to clean screen.

99.9% of ppl I've talked to, in forums, use a SOFT cloth and distilled water.

Personally, I use a paper towel and Pledge Furniture Polish - Really!

DO Not Use ammonia or ammonia based cleaners like Windex
