Not sure how to go about doing this.

W/ soapy water, how would you go about making sure all the soap is out. And then how would you dry it w/o it turning all deformed and wrinkly.

Same goes w/ throwing washer.

So, anybody know how to clean a hat/visor?

I thought they sold hat frames type contraptions that you put the hat in so it doesnt lose shape while its drying.

That is what I do. I wash/dry it like that ... only bad thing is when the bill gets straightened - unless it is a straight bill hat.

Just how dirty is the hat?

If it's dirty to the point of gross, then just get a new one. If it's just got some light dirt on it, take a moist handtowel, maybe a little detergent (regular soap is likely to kill the color of it) and rub it a little bit at a time. Wait till that portion dries, then do some more. That will keep it from deforming.

If the hat has cardboard instead of plastic inside the bill, then I wouldn't wash it in the washer. If the bill gets soaked, then it probably will never dry right, even with the frame thingy.

Just throw it in the washing machine. I do it to my work hats at least once a week ;)
