How to check stepping of CPU?

Hey guys,

I here you guys talking about CPU stepping and am wondering how you know what it is.
Is there a program that you use to tell what it is? I am running a P4 2.8C with the asus 865PE mobo non deluxe and am just curious as to how much I can overclock that beast. I am also running a stick of crucial pc3200 ram.

CPU-Z will tell you what stepping your cpu is.

not really. That stepping feild is only one digit, Im not sure what its telling you...but its not the actuall stepping of the CPU I.E. sl27u

You mean the sSPEC code of the cpu not stepping.
