How to Change Brightness in Windows 10

In addition to all the other screen related options, Windows 10 also allows you to change the display brightness.

You may want to decrease the brightness when your room light is dull, and you can properly see the objects even if they appear on a dimmer screen. Likewise, the brightness level needs to be increased in a decently illuminated room to view the images on your monitor clearly.

Changing display brightness in Windows 10 is a simple process, and here’s how it can be done:

Step 1
Search for the correct option

Type DISPLAY SETTINGS in the Cortana search box. This comes up with a list with two sections, namely Best match that shows Display settings as the closest object you searched for, and Settings that displays a list of all other related options. Pressing the Enter key (or clicking Display settings from the Best match list) opens the Display window.

Step 2
Locate the Change brightness slider

Click Change brightness level from the Settings list. This opens the Display window with the Change brightness slider under the Brightness and color section selected. Depending on the position of the slider bar, a numerical figure right above it shows the brightness level.

Step 3
Change the brightness

Move the slider to the left or right. This decreases or increases the display brightness respectively. Depending on the illuminance in your room, you can use the slider to adjust the screen brightness according to your comfort level.
