How to catch a rabbit?

There's a rabbit in our yard and it keeps on eating the greens from the garden. Any ideas on how I can catch this little rascal (without harming it)?

weve got some rabbits in our yard too, theyre great. Sometimes I see them just chilling on the grass, like they got nothing better to do. In fact I saw one that was laying down on its stomach, and I thought it was dead, but the bastard took off as soon as I got near him.

They are like grassy greens.. gonna be a paint to put wire around each one.. unless we do the whole garden patch.. but then again, I kinda wanna pet bunny.

Yeah, don't get rid of it.. just put some chicken wire up, that's what we do.

We have tons of rabbits in our yard, I've seen 4 or so at a time.. It's great, they'll run and jump and play with eachother.

If you reaaaallly don't want teh cutAy bunny by your greens, I think there are some sprays or spices or something that you can put on the plants to make teh cutAy bunny not eat them.

From garden supply stores, you can probably get dried rabbit blood. A little of that and your bunny will look for a safer place.

I don't think you will be happy if you try to make a pet out of a wild rabbit.

get a cat and it might catch the rabbit for you. keeping it intact might prove to be difficult though.

First of all, what kind of rabbit is it ?
If it looks like this, then just fence your greens.
Cottontails are wild and can not be domesticated.
However, if the rabbit looks different than cottontails agouti color then most likely it is a domestic rabbit.
Someone might have set it loose.
You can trap it by using a cage and put some carrots and water bowl inside.
Go to www.rabbit.org to learn more about having rabbit as a pet.

Well whaddya know.. it DOES look like that. Can't I just keep it in a cage and make freaky faces at it? My dad tried to use a slingshot on it. I was yelling at him, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

It is not recomended to keep a cottontail.
You might capture a female that has litter (kids) and if she can't go back and feed her litter they will die.

I understand that it is annoying to have them eat at your greens all the time but you can put a chicken wire around it to keep it from the rabbit. Make sure that it is deep enough so that they can't tunnel through.

Or if you are nice, plant some a bit far away from your garden for them to munch on

Every year we get baby bunnies that hang out in our yard. They are always here because of all the salad bars we have around the yard. They also go int he sandbox and like to roll around and clean themselves. It's sooo teh cutAy!

You can "catch" it with a .177 pellet rifle if it's being that big of a nuisance. Doesn't sound like you want to try that yet, though. I guess there's either the chicken wire option, or try to scare it away.
